Trash the Dress
Trash the Dress photo sessions have become VERY popular!
It usually does not mean actually trashing the dress, but it means doing this in the dress that you might not want to do on your wedding day -- going to the beach, walking on the street, lying on the ground, getting on a horse, -- or in this case getting on tractor and getting in a bucket loader. The dress might get a little dirty during the "Trash the Dress" photo session, but you are going to dry clean your dress and store it away anyway, perhaps for a lifetime, perhaps for decades if your daughter or niece wears your gown when they get married.
The Trash the Dress photo session is a way of expressing your personality and hobbies, a way of breaking away from the more traditional images captured on the actual wedding day. Some brides get dressed back up the next day, some do it when they return from their honeymoon. Grooms often wear a nice suit, or even something casual, or something fitting to the scene like our groom did here.
Here are some of our favorite images from Ashley and Mike's After the wedding session, you can view and/or purchase images from their session here

Birding at Chincoteague
Birding at Chincoteague
We had to walk out to the end because Hurricane Sandy destroyed the road out to Tom's Cove and the beach. Tom got down low and some of the birds walked right up to him, so close that he could not focus at times (and there was no adding an extension tube because it was very very windy with sand blowing everywhere...

Fun with my light tent
I have been having a lot of fun with my light tent -- flowers, critters, etc.
I raised this Monarch caterpillar and photographed him along the way during his transformation.

Hummingbird
When we vacation we often stop along the way and buy some flowers. This hummingbird was appreciative of our efforts...

Longwood Gardens by day and by Night
Longwood Gardens by day and by Night
We photographed the water lilies (and dragonflies on the water lilies) all morning and then the grounds during the afternoon and then the light installation until they closed. LOVED it all!

The dragonfly has obviously been creatively edited but the water bottles by night was a zoom blur done while taking the photograph, so it is straight out of the camera (SOOC)

Shawn and her Cats, Bald IS Beautiful
We had been talking to Shawn about photographing her three (bald) cats for months. Then a friend called us and said that this woman with the fabulous smile and positive attitude called us was diagnosed with cancer and we should schedule the photo shoot now because she was going to shave her head bald before the chemo did it for her. So Edie and Shawn arrived at our Studio with two calm and one stressed cats. We had a blast photographing the cats in the cubelite, and then all three cats with Shawn. What a role model this woman is, I am blessed to have met her.
The photo above was her favorite from the session, the headpiece and her expression make it a great choice
The photo below was my favorite from the session.
Tom asked her to think of a memory and I just love the expression that he captured.
You can tell a LOT about her spirit, as it definitely came through in her images.
Below is the composite that she had us create.
It was printed large and the woman at the print lab commented on the cats!
Sadly, Bobbee passed away not long after this photo session :-(
So sad, our pets are such an important part of our lives.
Tikki had a great personality when she was with us, we took oodles of photographs of her in the cubelite.
