Our Dogs

We have been photographing lots and lot of dogs so I felt badly that our own little puppies have been neglected. Here is our Golden retriever (she turns ONE Thursday) and our Chesapeake Bay Retriever (She will be 8 in January).

Responsible Dog Ownership Day

Today (9-27-08) was Responsible Dog Ownership Day at Paws N Effect (36 Corporate Ridge Road Hamden CT) http://www.pawsneffect.com/

Contests included the Best & Worst Trick, Best Costume, Dog & Owner look-alike, Ugliest dog

Activities included: Canine Agility, Doggie Line Dancing, Dogs with Jobs, Kid Safety
Canine First Aid, Grooming Tips, a Microchip Clinic, the Canine Good Citizen test and Tom & I -- the Pet Photographers!

We photographed some really cute and handsome dogs today. We will post their photos soon. We did have some unexpected help today. Karen's niece and nephew helped us get the dogs into position and helped to get their attention for us!













Meet Bloke, a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix





Now meet Bloke's family -- Eric, Julia and Peter. They are going to come back on October 26th when we are set up to take Holiday photos at Paws N Effect.





We will at Paws N Effect all day on Sunday Oct. 26th, call 281-7150 for your session. We will have a traditional backdrop as well as a holiday backdrop plus Kathy said that they might have a holiday prop or two in addition. Come get your beloved pet in a photo for a wall portraits and/or holiday cards.

Paw 'N Effect -- more dogs

We photographed a few more dogs at Paws 'N Effect -- a small class but great looking dogs!
Again, these are all puppies so it makes it even harder because they are so quick and hyper. We really had fun trying to get some of them so sit or stand for a few seconds in order to snap the shutter. What expressions on these magnificent puppies! This is a breed that I have never seen before -- a Blue Roan American Cocker Spaniel. It has different color eyes...



We almost always crop the photograph tight, but sometimes with puppies (and babies) I like to leave the extra room around the little one to show how little they are.

This Old Enlgish Sheepdog, Mollie, was just wonderful, floppy as anything.
