We are here at Chincoteague in Virginia and it has been an awesome first day. We got up at 4:30 am and were in the Refuge for sunrise, no wind so it wasn't too cold. A little later in the morning we were awed by THOUSANDS of snow geese which swirled down to the pond like a vortex/tornado. The sound when they took off was amazing. Wow! We saw egrets, herons, lots of waterfowl, a few little shorebirds, and even some warblers. We were also blessed with a GREAT sunset. Early to bed for another day tomorrow.
