Grand Central Terminal Vertorama

We have been photographing inside Grand Central Terminal lately, with tripods, doing HDR and long exposures and zoom blurs. We also lead workshops there, see more about our workshops and classes here.

There have been some great Grand Central Terminal (Susan Candelario and Jason Hipp) Vertoramas being made lately so I had to try my hand at it. You can see more of my GCT photos here.

This image was created  from 77 photographs. 11 positions, each one with 7 exposures.
HDR'ed in Photomatix and then stitched in Photoshop.
The final image was 20 inches wide by 48 inches high.

This next set of  images were created  from 35 photographs. 5 positions, each one with 7 exposures.
HDR'ed in Photomatix and then stitched in Photoshop.

TJ's first birthday cake

TJ's first birthday cake. see more here

We had fun photographing TJ with his first birthday cake. At first he did not seem to know what to do with it, then he proceeded to eat it systematically, if we had not intervened he might have kept eating and eating, LOL.

Blizzard 2013

Hamden had the honor of being "the bulleye" for Nemo, the Blizzard of 2013 -- we had 40 inches of snow!

I like this image below for perspective, Buddy is our 100 pound Golden Retriever...

We saw a plow on our Street Friday evening, then we did not see one again until the following Friday! A neighbor's grandson did come Monday with his small pickup truck and he made a path down our street.

The weather after the blizzard was actually quite nice, sunny, not too cold. A lot of snow melted, these icicles were from water dropping from above...

And an artistic (Fractalius) version of the image above...

one last piece of snow resisting the wind...

I made sure to clear a path to the birds feeders while Tom was digging us out in the front. As I was putting the bird feeders back up I noticed a feather at my feet.

An artistic rendition of the feather above...
